2A Fyffe Red Devils (0-0) vs 3A Geraldine Bulldogs (1-0)

Chris McCreless will be live at Colledge-Isbell Field Friday night as the five-time state champion Fyffe Red Devils attempt to avenge last season’s 20-19 loss to the Geraldine Bulldogs. Prior to last season’s one-point Bulldog victory, Fyffe was riding the nation’s longest winning streak at 51 games. During that run head coach Paul Benefield’s Red Devils claimed three state titles, four region crowns and rattled off three straight undefeated seasons. Geraldine head coach Michael Davis is beginning his second season at the helm of the Bulldogs’ program having closed out 2021 at 7-4. The Bulldogs knocked off Gadsden’s Coosa Christian School 36-7 last week. Fyffe currently holds a 44-34 all-time advantage, including winning 11 of the team’s last 13 matchups, in a series that dates back to 1933.
