Homewood Patriots | Waldrop Stadium

Homewood High School | Homewood, AL

Homewood’s Waldrop Stadium was dedicated to former Homewood Mayor Robert G. Waldrop in 1976. The Stadium, which sits adjacent to West Homewood Park, boasts a natural grass playing surface that was named in honor of legendary Patriots coach Bob Newton in 2009. Newton lead Homewood to a combined 124-24 record from 1995 to 2005. During his 11 year run, the off-campus complex on West Oxmoor was home to five AHSAA Class 5A state championship squads. In addition to Patriots football, Waldrop stadium plays host to Homewood High’s soccer and track and field teams and is home to the annual South Central Marching Classic band competition.
