Geraldine’s Michael Davis claims 2022 CM Gridiron Coach of the Year honors

Geraldine Bulldogs head football coach Michael Davis came out on top in CM Gridiron’s 2022 Coach of the Year fan-driven interactive poll. Davis, who garnered 835,453 votes through two rounds of voting, edged out Sylvania’s Tyler Vann, Pisgah’s Luke Pruitt and Marion County’s Kyle Williams in the final round of voting to come away with the first annual honor.

“Thank you to CM Gridiron for the award and what you continue to do for high school football. This award also belongs to our town, school, staff, teachers, players, band, cheerleaders, students, and everyone who wears purple with pride” Davis said after winning the award. “We will continue to give our community something to be proud of. Not only just wins but men of character and integrity who embrace the importance of being a great husband and father.”

A Geraldine High School alum, Davis closed out his second season at the helm of the Bulldogs program with a 9-4 record highlighted by a trip to the AHSAA, Class 3A quarterfinals. His head coaching record currently stands at 16-8 over two seasons.
