Nathan Parham Claims 2022 CM Gridiron Assistant Coach of the Year Honors

Late Sylvania Rams‘ assistant coach Nathan Parham came out on top in CM Gridiron’s 2022 Assistant Coach of the Year fan-driven interactive poll. Coach Parham, who passed away in January, garnered an astonishing 5,905,021 votes, in two rounds of voting, from fans not only from Sylvania but across the state of Alabama. Parham’s record-setting vote total shows the respect that the Alabama high school football community have for the 21 year coaching and education veteran.

In a further show of respect, round one winners Appalachian assistant Jonathan Beard and Tabernacle offensive coordinator Nate Miller asked supporters to cast their votes for Coach Parham. The gesture was a first-class move by these standout coaches and evidence of what makes Alabama high school football special.

In the final round of fan voting, Coach Parham claimed 10,950 votes (60.55%) followed by Tabernacle Christian offensive coordinator Nate Miller with 5,735 votes (31.77%), Appalachian Eagles assistant Johnathan Beard with 1,059 votes (5.87%) and Mountain Brook Spartans defensive coordinator Shane Stearns with 309 votes (1.71%).
