Geraldine Bulldogs standout Joseph Garcia captured CM Gridiron’s inaugural Defensive Player of the Year Award. Garcia secured 8,036 votes (46.15%) in the final round of interactive fan voting to edge out Geraldine’s teammate Eli Schlageter (5,170 votes, 29.69%), Oneonta’s Braden Taylor (4,041 votes, 23.21 %), Cherokee County’s Jack Amos (93 votes, 0.53%) and J.B. Pennington’s Micah Graves (73 votes, 0.42%).
CMG’s Defensive Player of the Year was comprised of Player of the Week winners from the 2022 Alabama high school football season.
Congratulations to all of the Alabama high school football standouts who were nominated to participate in this year’s CM Gridiron interactive fan polls.
