Aliceville High School’s football program has always been known for producing exceptional talent, and Darrell Brooks is no exception. Standing at an impressive 6 feet 1 inch and weighing 180 pounds, this young athlete has made a significant impact as a defensive force for the Aliceville High School Yellow Jackets, earning recognition and accolades along the way.
Darrell’s statistics speak for themselves. In his junior year, he recorded an impressive 100 tackles, demonstrating his ability to read plays, make swift decisions, and execute precise tackles. His uncanny knack for timing also earned him five sacks, displaying his agility and quickness off the line of scrimmage. Additionally, Darrell showcased his versatility as a defensive player by intercepting the ball twice, proving his exceptional coverage skills and football intelligence.
Recognizing Darrell’s immense talent and contribution to the team, he has received numerous accolades. His exceptional performances and leadership qualities earned him a well-deserved spot on the All-Region 1st Team, an honor reserved for the most outstanding players in the area. Darrell’s impact on the field did not go unnoticed, as he was awarded the prestigious Defensive Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for his team, a testament to his dedication and outstanding performance throughout the season.
Darrell’s leadership qualities were recognized by his teammates and Jackets head coach Grady Griffin, resulting in him being selected as a team captain. His ability to motivate and inspire his teammates, coupled with his exceptional skills on the field, has solidified his role as a key leader for the Yellow Jackets.
In addition to his achievements at the high school level, Darrell’s outstanding performances did not go unnoticed by local media and football communities. He was named the Tuscaloosa Defensive Player of the Week. Moreover, Darrell’s remarkable performances in the Pickens County region earned him the Pickens County Defensive Player of the Week title an impressive three times, cementing his status as a standout player in the area.
