Football fever is about to sweep through Northeast Alabama as we gear up for an action-packed high school football season. Brodie Norwood, a standout player for the Geraldine Bulldogs, is all set to lead the charge after an impressive run in 2022.

Last year was a blast for the Bulldogs fans, finishing at 9-4 and advancing to the AHSAA Class 3A quarterfinals. That’s no small achievement and it’s clear that the team’s hard work and teamwork paid off big time. Standing 6’1 and weighing in at 175 pounds, Norwood is set to make his presence felt in 2023. Whether it’s reading the game or making lightning-fast decisions, Norwood’s presence on the gridiron make a huge difference.

But football is the ultimate team sport, and the Bulldogs have that camaraderie in spades. Head Coach Michael Davis is the man with the plan, turning a group of talented individuals into a tight-knit team. With his experience and coaching know-how, the Geraldine High alum has transformed the Bulldogs into a force in Class 3A Region 6.

Mark your calendars for August 24th, that’s when the Bulldogs kick off the season at Coolidge-Isbell Field against Gadsden’s Coosa Christian School. Get ready for a season jam-packed with excitement, from those exhilarating victories to the edge-of-your-seat comebacks.

As the Bulldogs step onto the field with Brodie Norwood leading the charge and Coach Michael Davis calling the shots, they’ve got the entire Geraldine community rallying behind them. The 2023 season is right around the corner and Norwood and the Bulldogs are gearing up for another playoff run.
