Locust Fork standout J.J. Boatright secured the coveted title of CM Gridiron Defensive Player of the Week for Week 3 of the Alabama high school football season. This outstanding achievement was the result of Boatright’s remarkable performance, which played a pivotal role in the Hornets’ 42-0 shutout over Class 2A, Region 6 foe Cleveland.

Boatright’s statistics read like something out of a video game. The talented defender amassed an astonishing 12 tackles, demonstrating his ability to track down ball carriers with precision and tenacity. But that was just the beginning. He took things to the next level with seven of those tackles coming behind the Panthers line of scrimmage, a testament to his knack for penetrating the Cleveland offensive line and disrupting plays in the backfield.
