CM Gridiron Coach of the Year Nominee Profile: Pat Prestridge | Randolph County Tigers
Randolph County head football coach Pat Prestridge has earned a spot in this year’s CM Gridiron interactive Coach of the Year poll. The CM Gridirion fan-driven voting system recognizes the most influential and effective coaches in Alabama high school football.
In 2023, Coach Prestridge led Randolph County to a 10-2 record, steering the Tigers to the second round of the Class 3A playoffs. The Tigers’ offense was particularly potent, racking up an impressive 459 points while holding opponents to just 290.
Prestridge has just completed his 19th season at the helm of the Randolph County program, during which he has compiled a remarkable career head coaching record of 168-89. His leadership and strategic insight have guided the Tigers to 14 postseason appearances, a Class 2A state championship, and a region title.
As the voting period for this year’s Coach of the Year draws near, fans will have unlimited opportunities to cast their votes for Coach Prestridge. The voting matchups will be announced in early January. Given Prestridge’s proven track record and the recent success of the Tigers, there is no doubt that he is a strong contender for this prestigious award.

I think coach p should be coach of the year cause he has taught me a lot I used to be a trouble student coach p turned me into a young man he taught me. About brotherhood and he taught me about leadership he has taught me a lot things but the most important thing he has taught me is work ethic he once said “it doesn’t cost you to give full effort”when u really take it into consideration you really look at how you can do things differently In a different way In a different manor he taught me how to be a better person he has taught me so much but those are the things that really stand out to me
