CM Gridiron Coach of the Year Nominee Profile: Jacob Kelley | Cherokee County Warriors

Cherokee County High School head football coach Jacob Kelley has been nominated for the distinguished CM Gridiron Coach of the Year award. The award, which is determined by fans in CM Gridiron’s unlimited voting system, will have its official voting matchups announced in early January.

During the 2023 season, Coach Kelley guided the Warriors to an impressive 13-2 record, which included a region championship and their second consecutive trip to the Class 4A state title game. These achievements are a testament to Kelley’s leadership on the sidelines.

Cherokee County’s potent offense was key to the Warriors success in 2023. They scored a staggering 606 points, crossing the 40-point mark in nine separate games. This level of offensive efficiency is indicative of Kelley’s tactical acumen and his team’s execution on the field.

Kelley recently completed his fifth season at the helm of the Cherokee County program. Over this period, he has posted a 45-17 record, clinched two region titles, and led his team to back-to-back appearances in the AHSAA Super 7 State Championships.
