Player Spotlight: Aaron Peters, Senior Standout for the Tabernacle Christian Torches

In high school football, certain names stand out for their athletic ability and leadership skills. One such name is Aaron Peters, the talented senior quarterback of the Tabernacle Christian Torches. At 6’1″ and 210 pounds, the returning signal caller is not just a physical presence on the field but a strategic leader who has shown exceptional skills and determination.

Peters had an impressive 2023 season, serving as a team captain as a junior—a role that speaks volumes about his leadership on the gridiron. His stats are a testament to his hard work and talent. Peters completed 61-of-137 passes, amassing 1,127 yards and scoring 15 touchdowns through the air. With an average of 140 yards passing per game and a quarterback rating of 91.7, he has proven himself to be a formidable force under center.

Peters is not just a passer; he is also a game changer on the ground. He rushed for 157 yards on 43 attempts, adding another 8 scores in the running game. On defense, Peters recorded 12 tackles, with four of them for a loss, showcasing his all-around athleticism.

The senior’s experience, leadership and football I.Q. will be pivotal for first-year Tabernacle head coach Josiah Davis. Peters’ seasoned experience and exceptional skills make him a natural leader for the Torches. His ability to inspire and drive his teammates will be invaluable as they prepare for a challenging season ahead.

Peters and the Torches will kick off their 2024 campaign on the road, traveling to Springfield, Tennessee, to face South Haven Christian on August 16th.
