In an impressive display of community support and athletic prowess, the Coosa Christian Conquerors have captured the top position in the CM Gridiron interactive fan poll for week 1 of the Alabama high school football season. Garnering a remarkable 5,123 votes, the Conquerors secured 46.92% of the total 10,918 votes cast, showcasing the enthusiasm and dedication of their fan base.
Under the leadership of Head Coach Mark O’Bryant, the Conquerors, currently holding the No. 5 spot in Class 2A rankings, demonstrated their on-field capabilities with a decisive 17-7 victory against the formidable Class 5A Pell City Panthers. This triumph was especially significant as it was clinched on the road at the challenging Pete Rich – Alumni Stadium, solidifying the Conquerors’ reputation as a force to be reckoned with.
This week’s success not only reflects the Coosa Christian team’s resilience but also hints at a promising season ahead. With their next challenge being a region matchup against the 0-2 Southeastern Mustangs, the Conquerors are poised to continue their march back to the Super 7.

Central Clay County | Volunteers- The Volunteers knocked off the Benjamin Russell Wildcats with a final score of 35-28
Coosa Christian | Conquerors- Coosa Christian pulled off the upset victory over Pell City with a score of 17-7.
Corner | Jackets- The Jackets finished Friday night with a big win over the Dora Bulldog by a score of 35-18.
Hatton | Hornets- Hatton came through with a huge win over Deshler with a final score of 28-21.
Highland Home | Flying Squadron- Highland Home shutout Class 5A Charles Henderson in a huge win by the ending score of 24-0.
