CM Gridiron Coach of the Week | Tyler Vann | Scottsboro Wildcats

Tyler Vann, head coach of the Scottsboro Wildcats, has earned the honor of CM Gridiron’s Coach of the Week for Week 2 of the Alabama high school football season. This accolade comes as no surprise to north Alabama high school football fans, as Vann has shown remarkable leadership and tactical prowess in his first season at the helm of the Class 5A program.

The Wildcats are off to a blazing start under Vann’s guidance, boasting victories in their first three games. They’ve bested formidable opponents, including 6A Fort Payne, North Jackson, and region rival Boaz, with a combined score of 87-47. Last week’s home game against Boaz at Pat Trammell Stadium was particularly thrilling, as the Wildcats emerged victorious with a nail-biting 42-35 win.

Looking ahead, the Scottsboro Wildcats are preparing for a Friday night showdown against Class 5A, Region 8 foe Douglas, who are currently 2-0. This upcoming game will be a true test of Vann’s coaching acumen as the Wildcats aim to remain perfect on the season.

Before taking over the Wildcats program, Vann honed his coaching skills with the Class 3A Sylvania Rams for three seasons, where he posted a 28-10 record. His tenure with the Rams included a region title and an impressive run to the state semifinals. Earlier still, Vann spent a season leading the Woodville Panthers, posting a 5-6 record. His overall head coaching record stands at an impressive 36-16, with a 22-5 mark in region play and four postseason appearances over four seasons.

Tyler Vann’s early success with the Scottsboro Wildcats is a testament to his experience, strategic approach, and ability to galvanize his team. High school football fans are eagerly watching as Vann continues to make a significant impact on the gridiron, solidifying his reputation as a top-tier coach in Alabama high school football.
