Coosa Christian School head football coach, Mark O’Bryant, has been named the CM Gridiron Coach of the Week for Week 5 of the Alabama high school football season. The honor comes on the heels of the Conquerors’ historic 29-2 victory over the two-time defending state champion Fyffe Red Devils at Phillip Ellen Stadium.
Since taking the reins of the Coosa Christian program in 2020, O’Bryant has transformed the team into a prep powerhouse. Under his guidance, the Conquerors have achieved unprecedented success, with the team currently boasting a 5-1 record this season. Their 3-0 standing in region play positions them as strong contenders for the Class 1A, Region 6 title.
The former Navy Seal’s leadership has been pivotal in Coosa Christian’s rise to prominence in Alabama high school football. His impressive tenure includes a combined record of 30-25 over five years, highlighted by a trip to the AHSAA Class 1A state title game in 2023 and a semifinal appearance in 2022.
With the Conquerors setting their sights on another Super 7 appearance, they are poised to continue their successful run. This Friday, they will host the 2-3 Cleveland Panthers in Gadsden, aiming to further solidify their dominance under O’Bryant’s leadership.
