CM Gridiron Coach of the Week | George Redding | Fairview Aggies

Fairview High School head football coach, George Redding Jr., has been named CM Gridiron’s Coach of the Week for Week 6 of the Alabama high school football season.

The honor comes on the heels of a thrilling victory over the Russellville Golden Tigers. The Aggies emerged victorious in a nail-biting contest, edging out Russellville with a 50-49 win after three intense overtimes on Friday night at Tiger Stadium. This dramatic victory not only showcased the Aggies’ tenacity and strategic prowess but also boosted them to No. 5 in this week’s ASWA high school football rankings.

With the win, the Aggies have improved their record to an impressive 5-0 for the season. They stand undefeated at 4-0 in region play, positioning themselves firmly in the driver’s seat for the Class 5A, Region 7 crown with only two region matchups remaining.

Coach Redding’s leadership of the Fairview program is nothing short of remarkable. In his 18th season at the helm, he has amassed an exceptional overall record of 122-69. His tenure includes 11 playoff appearances, a memorable run to the Class 4A semifinals in 2021, and a region title in 2019. His ability to nurture young talent has been pivotal to the program’s sustained success.

Next on the agenda for Coach Redding and the Aggies is a date with the 2-4 Priceville Bulldogs Friday night at Dafford Smith Stadium. With momentum on their side, the Aggies will look to continue their winning streak and strengthen their grip on the region crown.
