The Appalachian Eagles soared to CM Gridiron Team of the Week for Week 9 of the Alabama high school football season. Garnering an impressive 3,223 votes, the Eagles secured a staggering 90.43% of the total votes cast in the fan-driven interactive poll.

This recognition comes after a thrilling victory over the Valley Head Tigers in a high-stakes Class 1A, Region 8 matchup. With a final score of 41-34, the Eagles demonstrated tenacity and skill, emerging victorious in a game that kept spectators on the edge of their seats. This win not only strengthened their position in the region but also boosted their confidence as they closed out the regular season with an 8-2 record.

Under the leadership of head coach Neal Whittington, the Eagles have achieved their best regular-season finish since 2010, marking a significant milestone for the Blount County program.

Looking ahead, the Eagles are set to host the Donaho Falcons at James E. Carr Stadium on November 8th, as they kick off the Class 1A playoffs. This home-field advantage is expected to play a pivotal role as they aim to maintain their momentum and make a deep postseason run.

Appalachian | Eagles- Appalachian came out with a huge 1A Region 8 win over the Valley Head Tigers by the final score of 41-34.

Ardmore | Tigers- The Ardmore Tigers defeated the West Point Warriors winning by a score of 27-13.

Central-Clay County | Volunteers- The Volunteers had a big win over the Pell City Panthers defeating them 41-17.

Corner | Yellowjackets- The Corner Yellowjackets had a huge win in a close one with the Carver Birmingham Rams defeating them 31-30.

Hale County | Wildcats- The Wildcats had a big win over the Dallas County Warriors by a score of 38-32.

Handley | Tigers- The Handley Tigers defeated the Booker T. Washington Golden Eagles winning by the score of 44-40.

Jacksonville | Golden Eagles- Jacksonville had a huge win over the St. Clair County Saints defeating them 45-21.

Keith | Bears- In the battle of the Bears, Keith came out with the win defeating Billingsley 38-36.

Muscle Shoals | Trojans- The Muscle Shoals Trojans defeated the Hartselle Tigers winning 29-28.

Oak Grove | Tigers- Oak Grove had a big win over the Fairfield Tigers defeating them 35-27.

Russell County | Warriors- The Russell County Warriors had a huge win over the Rehobeth Rebels defeating them by a final score of 77-40.

Waterloo | Cougars- Waterloo had a big win over Shoals Christian Flame with a final score of 34-14.

Winston County | Yellowjackets- The Winston County Yellowjackets had a big 2A Region 8 win over the Decatur Heritage Eagles defeating them by a score of 14-7.
