CM Gridiron makes local sports fans a part of the action from the comfort of their couch or on their smart phone in the stands. Now more than ever fans expect the same voice and connectivity they get on game day. CM Gridiron’s innovative, interactive experience brings the excitement of the sidelines to high school football fans 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

Meet our Founder | Chris McCreless

Chris McCreless is the CM behind CM Gridiron. The Geraldine, Alabama native has always had a love for high school football. About sixteen years ago, he made the decision to venture off of Sand Mountain in northeast Alabama and experience the Friday Night Lights on the biggest stages in the southeast.  His first matchup pitted the Etowah Blue Devils against the Gadsden City Titans. It was the Titans first football game since the consolidation of three high schools to create what is now 6A power Gadsden City High School. That trip ignited an even greater love of high school football.

That historic game led to an even greater passion for Friday night football that meant more time spent with his oldest son. He was eleven years old when the two started the tradition of sitting down before the beginning of the season and picking which games they would attend together. That’s a tradition that has continued for sixteen years straight.  Together, the pair have travelled all over the state, and continue to attend games each week to this day.

High School football has played a huge role in Chris and his wife Stephanie’s relationship.  A Facebook message about the television show “Friday Night Lights” led to their first date. Three years later, they were engaged on the opening Friday night of high school football season. When COVID struck in 2020, Chris and Stephanie spent time together driving around North Alabama, passing many high school football stadiums along the way. That led to a conversation about how Chris would like to lay eyes on every football stadium in the State of Alabama. The pair began a journey across the state and ultimately to the creation of “Chris McCreless’ Stadium Tour” on social media. Stephanie enjoys high school football as much as Chris and was in total agreement on making his vision a reality. She became the photographer/videographer/navigator for what became Chris’ popular stadium tour. 

In 2022, Chris partnered with PrepsNet to launch CM Gridiron, an online platform built to give fans a voice in Alabama high school football through an interactive, digital community. Beginning with the 2022 high school football season, CM Gridiron will feature fan driven forums, Player of the Week and Team of the Week fan polls, weekly fan picks, live in-game scores and an expanded High School football Stadium Tour.
